Silent Auction Rules
  1. By bidding in the silent auction, each bidder agrees to these auction rules. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted.  All items are “as is.” The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan has attempted to describe the catalog items correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the items. No statement made in this catalog, or made orally at the auction or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.
  2. The value listed is an estimate of fair market value. Items have not been appraised unless so noted. The amount you pay above this fair market value estimate is normally tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Please consult your tax advisor to clarify amount of deduction.
  3. Before the auction starts, the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice, to or from the auction.
  4. Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan, their board, employees, the auctioneer, the event organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.
  5. To make a bid for a Silent Auction item, find the item by its number on your smartphone, click on the item name and then scroll down to the blue bid button. This will let you know the next minimum bid. You can choose to bid this amount by clicking the blue bid button and confirm your bid. You will receive notification in email and text form if you get outbid. This will include the link for that item to place another bid.
  6. Do not make ANY bids that you are not willing to purchase the item for that price.
  7. Once the auction is declared closed, the last bid made shall constitute the winning bid and will be so indicated. The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan will mediate any disputes among bidders and that determination shall be final.
  8. The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan provides no guarantees, warranties or servicing of auction items and is not liable for any personal injury or damage to property that may result from the use of the item or service sold.
  9. Payment for items purchased must be made in full on the night of the auction. The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan will gladly accept cash, MasterCard, Visa, America Express, or your check payable to the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan.
  10. Following payments, you may pick up your purchases by showing your confirmation text to the Silent Auction Representative.
  11. The purchaser must pick up all items the night of the auction. Any item left unclaimed, without prior arrangements, will be sold and proceeds will go to the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan.
